mla2Hyderabad: Three legislators of Telugu Desam Party Tummala Nageswara Rao, Uke Abbaiah and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah on Monday moved a privilege motion against Khammam collector for alleged breach of protocol. They handed over a communication to the Speaker, N Manohar to this effect. They complained that the collector Siddharth Jain had conducted a review meeting on the developmental activities on March 24 without giving them any prior intimation. Tummala Nageswara Rao informed the Speaker that the Khammam collector inaugurated 'SMS Hostel' and APREJC school building in Yellandu constituency on March 24, 2013 without informing the Yellandu MLA. He said that the collector has also opened PHC building at Kumararam and Masi Vagu bridge without intimating to the Yellandu MLA Uke Abbaiah. "As per protocol for inaugurations and functions as well as review meetings of ministers the concerned MLA had to preside over and minister would be the chief guest", he said. TDP MLA requested the Speaker to call for the explanation from the district collector for violation of protocol of the concerned MLAs. Speaker Nadendla Manohar assured the TDP legislators that he would ask the collector for his clarification . On the other hand, Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew has reportedly asked the collector on the complaint of MLAs. In another case, Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar has also made a complaint against Eluru DSP for preventing him of discharging his functions as Member of Legislative Assembly.
