Hyderabad: In an effort to seek the cooperation of Seemandhra community for smooth demerger of the State, Telangana JAC has resolved to conduct a massive peace rally in the city in first week of September. Elaborating details, T JAC chief Prof Kodandaram said that the ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme would be organised between September 4 and 7. Kodandaram, speaking at T JAC’s Shanti Deeksha at Indira Park, was highly critical of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for trying to stall the process of formation of separate State.

Kiran Reddy’s demand for unified State is only aimed at maintaining stronghold over Hyderabad, reasoned Kodandaram, adding that if it was in his hands he would ensure Telanganites would be treated as refugees in Hyderabad. T JAC chief appealed to the Seemandhra politicians not to disturb the peace and harmony of the people with their provocative statements.

He reiterated that both Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam belonged to Telangana. Kodandaram also flayed the Seemandhra leadership for linking Naxal issue with formation of Telangana State. Meanwhile, Telangana Jagruthi activists led by their president K Kavitha sat through the entire fourth day of T JAC Shanti Deeksha. Participating in the concluding session, TRS secretary general K Keshav Rao said that he was pained to see the insult being meted out by Seemandhra protestors to his party president K Chandrasekhar Rao for last few days.
