The state government on Wednesday gave its consent for hike in bus fares for the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) service. The hike will impact all commuters – ordinary, intra-city and longdistance.
The state government on Wednesday gave its consent for hike in bus fares for the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) service. The hike will impact all commuters – ordinary, intra-city and longdistance.
The hike is 10 per cent in irrespective of services in ordinary, long distance, intra-city and air conditioned buses. It will come into effect from Saturday. At present, the minimum fare of ordinary bus service, which is Rs 5 in Pallevelugu, will rise to Rs 7. For Express buses, the fare will go up from present Rs 10 to Rs 15. In case of deluxe and luxury buses, the fare will be increased from the existing Rs 15 to Rs 20. The fare hike for Indra and Vennela services will be Rs 25 and Rs 50 respectively. A formal announcement about the hike will be made on Saturday morning.
