Pay hike likely for GHMC staff

The salary of GHMC employees are likely to be hiked based on city compensatory allowance (CCA), Municipal Minister M Maheedhar Reddy is understood to have told GHMEU president U Gopal, when the latter called on him in his chambers at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters later, Gopal said that government was mulling over this decision due to the higher ‘cost of living’ for GHMC staff in the State capital when compared to their colleagues in other municipalities of the State. The government is also likely to issue PRC and health cards to permanent employees before the division of the state, he informed.

The recognised union president submitted a memorandum on various demands pertaining to GHMC staff to the minister on this occasion.
