With a view to express their displeasure and demand protection to labour laws and others, several trade unions across the country would be holding 'Chalo Parliament' on December 12. They would further demand the cancellation of contractual employment system, reduction in the prices of essential commodities and control foreign direct investment (FDI).
Disclosing this at a meeting held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on Wednesday, Tapan Kumar Sen, MP, said, the meeting was held to train the workers unions across the country in organising workers in the private sector undertakings. He said that workers were already trained in labour laws.
He further informed that several case studies were also discussed with respect to provident fund, ESI, master-roll registrations and so on.
All India General Secretary, CITU, K Hemalatha, All India Secretary, CITU, M Sai Babu, State President, CITU, K Dhanalaxmi and State Secretary, CITU, U Uma Maheshwar attended the meeting along with more than 100 delegates from different States.
