The Special Court for CBI cases on Thursday, reserved its orders in YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s plea seeking permission to visit other states, for November 12.
Additional Special Judge M V Ramesh was dealing with two petitions filed on November 6 by Jagan, seeking more relaxation of his bail conditions and permission to visit other states without having to inform the CBI of his tour itinerary.
It may be mentioned here that, Jagan, who was arrested in May last year in disproportionate assets case, was granted bail on September 23, 2013, with conditions that he should not leave Hyderabad without the CBI’s permission.
“It would be absolutely necessary and compelling for the petitioner to travel and visit various places and conduct political activities, including touring other states, in view of the current political crisis engulfing Andhra Pradesh and the upcoming elections in the year 2014,” Jagan’s counsel submitted. The court was informed that Jagan had to complete his Odarpu Yatra and was intending to meet the leaders of different political parties and impress upon them on the need to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
