Mahabubnagar: District and Sessions Judge T Gangi Reddy said here on Saturday that district legal service authorities were established to provide quick and free justice to the poor.

Presiding over the meeting organised in connection with the National Legal Services Day at Nyaya Seva Sadan on the premises of the District Courts here, the district judge said that Lok Adalats conducted by the legal service authority would help the parties to strike compromise between them.

As part of that National Lok Adalat would be organised on November 23, he said and appealed to the people to utilize the day to solve their disputes.

District Collector Girija Shankar said that most of the disputes were related to land. He said that more and more legal services camps should be conducted to bring awareness among people relating to land disputes. He said that the problems of migration, child labour and problems relating women dogged the district.

SP D. Nagendra Kumar underlined the importance of bring legal awareness among people particularly in rural areas. He complimented the judiciary for its cooperation in solving the murder case of girl child Shreya. He suggested to the media to print the successfully solved stories.

District Legal Services Authority secretary K Seshagiri Rao, First Additional District Judge S Bhajaranga Babu, Family Court Additional District Judge P Sudhakar, Government Pleader A Rajendar Reddy, Public Prosecutor Vinod Kumar, DSP Mallikarjuna and others were present.
