Metropolitan Development Plan 2031approved

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has asked the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to speed up the ongoing works including lake preservation, development and beautification and construction of radial roads.

Chaired the HMDA meeting at Secretariat on Tuesday, he said that the officials should chalk out plans to meet the needs of the ever increasing population in the city. The meeting ratified the proposals put forward by HMDA, including the Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 for Hyderabad Metropolitan Region.

Out of the total HMDA area of 7257 sq km, the plan covers 5,985 sq km in 35 mandals in four districts. The projected population of HMDA is 1.84 crore for 2031. As per the details of the meeting, HMDA has initiated steps to integrate online services for better service. HMDA intends to re-introduce green channel concept whereby owners, builders and developers would have the option to obtain expeditious approval.

The Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, M Maheedhar Reddy, Chief Secretary P K Mohanty, HMDA Commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad and others were present at the meeting.
