Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday announced an additional allocation of Rs. 77 crore to the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) for infrastructure improvement.
Speaking on the occasion of birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad on Thursday, he recalled the services of the ‘Chacha’ Nehru, who proved to be a biggest asset not only to the country but also to the world by rendering his outstanding services. “He not only laid foundation to the country we live, but also gave a direction”, the CM noted.
Highlighting the importance of education in today’s world, the CM said that it transforms a man into great human being and helps uplift personality, while contributing to his overall development. He was very keen educating women, as women’s contribution to the society was much larger as a mother and wife.
He asked the students to learn things wholeheartedly with a ‘smiling face’. “When your education synchronises with your interest, the chances of success in life are more”, he said.
Citing how the US president Obama once famously said that India and China had more serious students than his own country, he said that this was an example of how Indian children can contribute to the overall development of the nation.
Referring how the city of Hyderabad attained global status with IT, the Chief Minister said that some 14,000 flights accounting to 50 percent of the global flights were being monitored from the City’s apparatus.
