‘Bhadrachalam Division Should go to Andhra’, NG Ranga Foundation, Special Delimitation Commission. He said the Andhra region lost two parliament and 13 Assembly constituencies in the delimitation because of effective implementation of family planning programme

NG Ranga Foundation on Saturday demanded that the Union government set up a ‘Special Delimitation Commission’ to revive the Bhadrachalam (ST) and Tenali Lok Sabha constituencies as well 13 Assembly constituencies of Andhra area, which were abolished in 2007 delimitation, in the event of the bifurcation of the State. Foundation president Dr B Subba Rao shot off a letter to Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh and urged him to constitute the Commission before the official process for the division of the State was completed.
He said the Andhra region lost two parliament and 13 Assembly constituencies in the delimitation because of effective implementation of family planning programme. “Had Andhra region been a separate State in 2007, it would not have lost Bhadrachalam and Tenali constituencies. People of Andhra region should not suffer by losing a number of public representatives to be elected by them in 2014 for having successfully implemented family planning programme,” he said.
