The Government is having a re-think on its proposal to divide the State, Union Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao disclosed in Nuzvid while touring his Lok Sabha constituency.

Talking to press persons after laying the foundation for several development works, he said the Seemandhra leaders who were trying to retain the State’s unity had made their stand clear. Now the government seemed to be having second thoughts on the division.

He inaugurated a cement road at Tukkula village, in Nuzvid mandal. The works for which he laid the foundation included a community hall in the village, a silkworm sale centre at the Hanuman Junction, a government hospital building at Gollapalem.

Telugu Desam Gannavaram MLA Dasari Balavardhan and Krishna district Rythu Sangham leader Chalasani Anjaneyulu met the Union minister. When they demanded his resignation to maintain the State’s unity, he quipped if it helped he was ready, but it was not possible.

In Mangalagiri, Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao quipped that the Seemandhra leaders had held out a threat to form a party only to browbeat the party high command. He advised the Telangana protagonists to stop making humiliating comments against Chief Minister Kiran Reddy. Otherwise, he warned ‘we will not keep quiet’. Rao was speaking after inaugurating two classroom blocks of VTJM & IVTR Degree College.

The MP asserted that there would be no State’s division and that Kiran Reddy would remain CM till 2014. He observed that all parties, except the CPI(M) which supported the division, were now changing their stand.
