Hyderabad: A Central team tasked with the job of taking stock of the crop losses in the State arrived here on Sunday. The eight-member delegation led by Shambu Singh, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, was received at the airport by Disaster Management Commissioner C Parthasarathy and his officials.

Later, Parthasarathy briefed them about the natural calamities that dealt a severe blow to the agricultural community in the State. After a review meeting with heads of various departments on Monday morning, the Central delegation would depart for affected areas. One team would visit Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts, the second team Guntur and Prakasam, and the third team Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts. The Central team would return to the State capital on November 20 evening.
The delegates would hold a review meeting again with the officials concerned on November 21.
