Hyderabad: BJP state president G Kishan Reddy has demanded cancellation of cash transfer scheme pertaining to supply of domestic gas cylinders. He appealed to the government to distribute gas cylinders on subsidised rates without linking it with Aadhaar card. A large number of BJP supporters and leaders led by Kishan Reddy staged a sit-in protest in front of the office of chief rationing officer (CRO) in Secunderabad on Tuesday.
They protested over the hardships faced by the gas consumers in twin cities. Neither the linkage process was complete nor were consumers receiving the subsidy amount in their bank accounts in time, the BJP leaders lamented. Police arrested the protesters and shifted them to Gandhinagar police station and released them later.
