Narayana Hits Out At CM Over Naxal Remarks. He said it was the ‘lowest level’ a State leader could stoop to in his opportunistic endeavours.

Hyderabad: CPI State Secretary K Narayana on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his certain remarks during his meeting with the Group of Ministers (GoM).

He said it was the ‘lowest level’ a State leader could stoop to in his opportunistic endeavours.

Narayana also took strong exception to the Union Home Ministry’s observation in a report submitted to Supreme Court, where it described the ‘ideologues of militancy’ as more dangerous than the ‘militants’ themselves.
If it was true, he said several leaders sympathetic to the ideology of Naxals, including those in power, should also be arrested.
He drew the attention of the government to the fact that many a time Naxals were hailed as ‘freedom fighters.’ He stressed that Left wing extremism and religious fundamentalism were two different things and should not be treated in the same way.
Social injustice and growing unemployment among tribal populations were some of the major factors of Naxalism, he added.
