Hyderabad: Pradeep Kumar Srivastava took over as general manager, South Central Railway on Wednesday. A member of 1976 batch of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), he served as chief electrical engineer, Central Railway, Mumbai prior to the posting. After graduating in BE (Electrical Technology and Electronic) from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Srivastava did his post graduation in Power Apparatus & Systems from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. He started his career in Indian Railways as Asst electrical engineer, Kota, Western Railway in October, 1979 and held several key positions in his 36 years of service.
He also worked extensively in the area of DC-AC conversion and renewable energy and, is known for his several noteworthy achievements.
