Hyderabad: The Executive Council of the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), which is scheduled to meet on Friday, is expected to focus its attention to a number of issues and allegations raised by students, which have a bearing on the campus life.
The council may also look into certain grievances of students which were said to have remained unaddressed for more than six months.
Lambasting the university authorities, six student organisations viz DABMSA, TSA, PDSU, SIO, BSF, and TVV, had demanded CBI probe into what they called as ‘massive financial irregularities’.
Targetting the vice-chancellor Prof Sunayana Singh, the student bodies also held her squarely responsible for making Prof Syed Sayeed in-charge of six key administrative posts, which is against the norms of UGC. But the VC office rejected the claim saying that the vice-chancellor had the statutory powers to give any professor any responsibility temporarily.
Other issues like excessive police presence on campus at all times, restriction of the movement of students due to blockade of all the exit routes, architectural hazard to the boys hostel, lack of academic atmosphere etc may also come up for discussion, sources said.
