3 Eventful Days, Bifurcation of the State, Congress Core Committee. The Group of Ministers (GoM) is likely to meet informally at the house of Union Defence Minister A K Antony on Tuesday to give final touches to the report they have been tasked to prepare on the bifurcation of the state.

Hyderabad: The Group of Ministers (GoM) is likely to meet informally at the house of Union Defence Minister A K Antony on Tuesday to give final touches to the report they have been tasked to prepare on the bifurcation of the state.
According to sources, the informal meeting is also likely to take into consideration the Antony Committee report. This would be followed by the formal meeting of the GoM on Wednesday which will discuss and approve the report and submit it to the government. The Union cabinet is expected to discuss the report on Thursday. Sources say that the Wednesday meeting of the GoM will be the last one in the series.
Meanwhile, members of the Congress Core Committee including Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, Antony, Jairam Ramesh, AICC state in-charge Digvijay Singh and political advisor to Sonia Gandhi Ahmed Patel met AICC president Sonia Gandhi and discussed the issues that had come before the GoM. The issue of the status of Hyderabad is also learnt to have figured during the meeting.
It is learnt that the GoM is in favour of making Hyderabad as joint capital and the entire GHMC area part of the joint capital region. Other contentious issues like merging some areas of Bhadrachalam with the residuary state and whether or not to amend Article 371-D is likely to be taken up at the meeting of GoM members on Tuesday.
