Hyderabad: Rubbishing claims of political opponents that BJP took to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel slogan in election year only for its political gains, Pradeep Singh Jadeja, the Gujarat Law Minister and AP incharge for ‘Statue of Unity’ initiative, said that this was not restricted either to Gujarat State or just to the saffron party. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel trust, which was tasked with overseeing the job of this prestigious project, had invited stakeholders from all sectors including political outfits across the nation, he reminded.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Pradeep Singh said, “Sardar Patel strived for ‘Ek Bharat’, and BJP has been working for ‘Shresht Bharat’.”

Pradeep Singh further stated that a team from Gujarat comprising higher officials and trust members would be visiting the State for three days from November 29 - December 1 to meet Governor, Chief Minister and various NGOs to seek their co-operation for the initiative.
Meanwhile, BJP state chief G Kishan Reddy said that BJP has been doing its homework on ‘Statue of Unity’ project for the last three and half years. This included selection of site, zeroing on leading infrastructure major to undertake the project etc, he added.
