Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a history-sheeter under Langar Houz police limits on Monday night.


The victim, who has been identified as Md Awais, a car driver from Battery lane, Mallepally, was stabbed with a sharp object repeatedly, the police said.


According to police, on Monday night the deceased along with his friends went to meet Md Firdous, a history-sheeter of Banjara Hills, and Lateef after the latter called him to Nanalnagar near Shah Ghouse Hotel at Tolichowki on the pretext of discussing some issues. Heated arguments took place during their discussion leading to a fight and alleged murder. The victim was rushed to a private hospital where he died while undergoing treatment a few hours later, said cops. Police registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC and began investigation. The body has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for an autopsy examination. Police informed that a special team has been formed to nab the accused.
