Hyderabad: Railway authorities arrested over 48 unauthorised booking agents in twin cities for illegally booking tickets online and selling it to passengers at a premium price.
The arrests were the result of efforts put in by the vigilance teams of Indian Railways, who kept surveillance on illegal activity of these agents in Hyderabad and Secunderabad for last 20 days.
“These agents are creating several personal IDs to book reserved e-tickets, under both Tatkal and general quota and supplying the same to their customers,” said a release. In all, 48 accused were booked under Section 143 of the Railways Act and were sent to judicial remand.
