In addition, the state police had also been put on high alert and all the officers who had gone on leave had been asked to report to duty immediately cancelling their leave.

The Central forces will work with Tirupati as their headquarters.

The Centre which has been in close touch with the DGP here has got information that there was a possibility of political leaders from Seemandhra region raking up passions which could lead to violent protests and possibility of vandalism across the region.

It is said that the Union Home Ministry has been getting regular reports on the ground situation in Seemandhra region and the various statements being made by political leaders as well as those by APNGOs and other organisations that have recently been adopting a tough posture and threatening to revive the agitation if the Centre goes ahead with its decision to bifurcate the state. In view of this, the central government did not want to take any chance and had decided to deploy the Central forces to handle any kind of situation.
