Officially, I am Still AICC Spokesperson: Renuka, Bhadrachalam Division, State’s Bifurcation. The former Union Minister pointed out that she did not need a certificate from anyone to prove that she belonged to Khammam district. She challenged her rivals for a public debate on who developed the district.

Khammam: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary maintained here on Saturday that it was incorrect to say that she has been removed as the AICC spokes person. In this regard, no information has been received so far, she told press persons here. Renuka strongly opposed the move to transfer Bhadrachalam division to residual Andhra Pradesh after the State’s bifurcation. She asserted that transfer of even an inch of land of the division would not be allowed; it would remain in Telangana whenever the State was bifurcated. Earlier, her followers accorded a rousing reception at Nayakangudem when she entered the district to take out a rally from Khammam to Bhadrachalam. Renuka made it clear that the Rayala Telangana proposal was not acceptable to people of the region. She conceded that there was some truth in Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s statement that naxalism would get a boost if the State was bifurcated.
