Aurangabad: At least seven policemen on patrolling duty were feared killed in a landmine blast by Maoists in Bihar’s Aurangabad district on Tuesday evening. Inspector-General of Police Sushil Khopde said that among the dead was officer in-charge of Tandwa police station Ajay Kumar.
The police party, on patrol duty, was returning to Tandwa police station from Nabinagar when the blast took place near Uttri kol nahar. It was feared that the casualty figure might go up, Khopde said. Aurangabad, about 200 km away from Patna, is a Maoist-infested district bordering Palamu district of Jharkhand.
