TDP, YSRCP and APNGOs give bandh call

Hyderabad: The decision of the Union Cabinet to implement the CWC resolution in letter and spirit has now put the Seemandhra region on boil once again.

While the YSRCP has given a bandh call on Friday, the TDP Seemandhra leaders have joined the chorus by calling for 48 hour bandh. The Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samiti chief and APNGO leader P Ashok Babu also announced that they would be joining the bandh and will continue the fight against bifurcation of the State till end. Talking to media, he said, they were still hopeful that the Union Cabinet's decision to bifurcate AP was not the end of the issue. “We will put in all possible efforts to persuade the MLAs of Seemandhra to defeat the T-Bill in the Assembly.” He lashed at the Seemandhra MPs and said that it was their failure which had made the centre to move thus far. He exuded confidence that if the state Legislature vetoes the bill, I believe the Parliament might not endorse it contrary to the views of the Assembly," he said. According to him, the APNGOs would resume 'Save AP' agitation from Dec 9 and continue till Dec 20. He said as the first announcement for creation of Telangana was made on Dec 9, 2009, the APNGOs decided to resume the agitation on the same date.

Ashok Babu said nine km human chain will be formed encircling the Indrakeeladri hill in Vijayawada on Dec 9 to mark the resuming the Save AP agitation. He said December 9 would observe as betrayal Day for Telugu people.

Later, the APNGOs would lay siege to the Assembly when the House took up a discussion on the T-Bill. He said rallies, protests, power shut down, and highways blockade would also be taken up from Dec 9 across Seemandhra.
