Good Response to Bandh Call in Kurnool, Union Cabinet’s Decision on Telangana. Members of the Employees and Teachers’ JAC formed a human chain and staged a ‘rasta roko’at the Collectorate. They pledged to continue the agitation till the State’s unity was ensured.

Kurnool: People here voluntarily observed bandh, even as both government and private educational institutions remained closed in response to the call given by the YSRC and Telugu Desam parties. Buses of RTC were confined to the depots. Activists of YSRCP, led by Kurnool in-charge S V Mohan Reddy, forced closure of government offices and banks. NGOs who staged a demonstration before the Collectorate alleged that ‘injustice’ was being done to the Seemandhra region because of the Union Ministers’ inefficiency.

Teachers of private schools held a ‘rasta roko’ at Raj Vihar Centre, went in a rally to the Chennamma Circle and squatted on the highway for several hours. Activists of TDP, under the leadership of K E Prabhakar, took out a bike rally in the town to protest the Union Cabinet’s decision on Telangana.
