Hyderabad: Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) on Friday strongly condemned the denial of appointment to submit a memorandum to Governor E S L Narasimhan on the occasion of 21st anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid.

MBT leader and corporator Amjadullah Khan said: “Muslim organisations have been registering their protest by submitting a memorandum to the Governor against the demolition of Babri Masjid since 1992. However, for the first time in the last 21 years no Muslim organisation is given an appointment by the Governor.”

He said that the Raj Bhawan staff did not respond to the repeated pleas made by the Muslim organizations, seeking appointment with the Governor. However, it was only on Friday that the officials concerned responded, asking the MBT and other groups to hand over their memorandum to the Principal Secretary to the Governor since Narasimhan was busy.

The MBT now decided to forward a copy of the petition, which was to be submitted to the Governor, directly through registered post to President Pranab Mukherjee with a complaint against the Governor over denial of appointment.
