Social worker felicitated

Hyderabad: Sripuram Colony Welfare Association on Sunday felicitated V Janaki, founder of People with Hearing Impaired Network (PHIN), at the Sripuram colony community hall in the City. Janaki, recently had received an award from President Pranab Mukherjee for being a role model for in carrying out social work for hearing impaired people.

She thanked the colony welfare association for treating the children of her school for hearing impaired as family. She said that though receiving an award in appreciation for her work made her happy, the real financial help from the government, which was very much needed for taking care of the hearing impaired children was still elusive.

P Ashok Kumar, president, Sripuram Colony Welfare Association, G Venugopal Rao, general secretary, V Venkatrao, convener and MV Krishnacharyulu, P Venugopal Reddy, executive members of the Association, assured that they would take care of the educational, healthcare and other basic needs of the children.
