Anantapur: Making sensational remarks ridiculing the ruling party, former Minister and Tadipatri MLA J C Diwakar Reddy on Monday demanded resignation of Sonia Gandhi as Congress chief, following its debacle in the four Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media at his residence here, Reddy observed that the countdown for the Congress had begun.
It would be better if the party leadership was entrusted to somebody else. Otherwise, it would not get even a single seat in the 2014 elections. Predicting the UPA Government’s fall, he thanked the party MPs for serving a notice of no-confidence motion. If it was passed, the process of State’s bifurcation could be stalled, the MLA claimed. Reddy said he would be the first person to be happy if the UPA Government collapsed. He hoped the Congress would be wiped out, as people were ‘fed up with it for failing on all fronts’.
