Mobile phones to lead fishermen to good catch
Mobile Phones to Lead Fishermen to Good Catch, MS Swaminathan Research Foundation. Neetu Prasad lauded the services rendered by the foundation in agriculture and extension fields and expressed happiness over its endeavour in providing crucial information to fishermen.
Kakinada: East Godavari Collector Neetu Prasad on here Tuesday distributed mobile phones to fishermen from Krishna, East and West Godavari districts, enabling them to obtain information of the density of their fish catch.
The mobile application has been taken up by the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation to locate potential fishing zones. Addressing the gathering, the Collector explained that information on fishing was now being provided through GPS system. The mobile phones would enable detection of potential fishing zones and provide information in Telugu, Tamil and English on various welfare schemes benefitting of fishermen.
Neetu Prasad lauded the services rendered by the foundation in agriculture and extension fields and expressed happiness over its endeavour in providing crucial information to fishermen.
