Hyderabad: The journey of one of the world’s greatest cricketing legends, Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, has been compiled into a book titled ‘Cricket Everest Sachin Tendulkar’.
The book, which was written by senior sports journalist Chopparapu Krishna Rao, was released by V Mukesh Kumar, former hockey captain of India, at an event held at the Hyderabad Book Fair on Wednesday. Mukesh Kumar described Sachin as a legend who was not only a great sportsman in performance, but also a wonderful person who had humane qualities.
K Ramachandra Murthy, the editor-in-chief of HMTV and The Hans India, said that the author had seen Sachin evolve as a cricketer. Observing that not many books about sportspersons were written in Telugu language, he lauded the author for the endeavour.

He felt that Sachin was able to survive as a great cricketer for so long only because of his strict discipline as a sportsman which he put above a glamorous life style that other cricketers easily fall prey to.
Venkatesh, a noted sports analyst, praised Krishna Rao for writing the first book on sports in Telugu language way back in 1982, when he was a sports journalist during the Asian Games which were held in Delhi at that time.
He praised the industrious quality of Krishna Rao who completed the book on Sachin in just a week. Krishna Rao recalled how he started his career in journalism in 1984, and said that he was lucky to have run stories in electronic media about Sachin’s exit as well. He felt that a sportsperson like Sachin would come only once in a millennium.
The book release function was presided over by G Vijaya Rao. Chamundeshwari Nath, Former Manager of Team India, D Sharma, and others were present.
