Swami Vivekananda has special place among saints: HC judgeRajahmundry: Swami Vivekananda has a special place among all saints in the country and all Indians should be proud that he walked this land, High Court Judge Justice Noothi Rammohan Rao observed here on Saturday.
He said Vivekananda was inspired by Ramakrishna Paramahamsa in finding divinity among people, while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Sanathana Dharma Sadassu’ (congregation of saints) organised to mark the week-long 150th jayanti of Vivekananda at Government Arts College. Saints from across the country attended.
Quoting Vivekananda, he advised people to cleanse themselves of bad odour by practising Hinduism, while recalling that the world was stunned by the swamiji’s famous speech at Chicago proclaiming that man was not a sinner by birth. Recalling Rajaji’s statement on Vivekananda, the judge mentioned that the country could not have survived without Vivekananda, who had described Vedanta as compilation of all Vedas, and unveiled the definition of the Upanishads.
He hailed the swamiji’s ideology that even a dog should not be hungry in this country, while terming those who are the root cause of poverty as traitors. While describing Vivekananda as a man with great scientific temperament, Justice Rao recalled his ideology that a person could attain ‘nirvana’ only through serving fellow beings.
He had provided answers for all ills of society, for all times. Addressing the gathering, Swami Raghunanandaji Maharaj of Beluru Mutt in West Bengal observed that the maximum number of research works on Sanatana dharma taken up in the country had made it great.
Practitioners of dharma were born in India. He said Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa had ably defined dharma and spirituality. There were no limits for Sanatana Dharma. He advised people to be good human beings by following the teachings of Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.
