MPDO Dies in Mishap, Private Tourist Bus Accident Near Borra Caves. The mishap occurred when the team was going to Borra Caves after visiting Araku Valley. It is learnt the MPDO.
Paderu: Manadal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) of Gandepalli, East Godavari district, Muralidhar, 47, was killed on the spot and 11 others were seriously injured when a private tourist bus in which they were travelling hit a roadside rock and overturned when the driver lost control over the vehicle while descending from the Borra rail overbridge on Sunday.
The mishap occurred when the team was going to Borra Caves after visiting Araku Valley. It is learnt the MPDO, accompanied by the staff of Mandal Parishad and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, left Gandepalli on Saturday night for an outing to Araku Valley and Borra Caves. Eye-witnesses said the vehicle hit the rock and overturned; otherwise it would have fallen into a deep trench. The injured were rushed in the 108 vehicle to S Kota Government Hospital. A case has been registered.
