All the occupants got down and moved to a safe distance from the car, which caught fire and was reduced to ashes within no time. By the time fire tenders reached the spot and took control over the flames, the vehicle was totally burnt.Police registered a case and took up the investigation. In a similar incident, a Maruti Wagon-R (DL 2C 5688), which was travelling from Lingampally to Shamshabad airport, suddenly caught fire near Narsingi at outer ring road on Sunday morning.
According to police, no one was injured in the incident as the driver stopped the car when he saw smoke emanating from the engine. The car caught fire soon after he got out of the vehicle. Fire service pressed into service, but the vehicle had been gutted before the fire tenders rushed to the scene.
