Hyderabad: The only MLA of Loksatta Party, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayana alleged that Congress Party opted to divide the state of Andhra Pradesh, only with the fear of losing the general elections in 2014. After the assembly adjournment on Tuesday, he spoke to the media and said with the apprehension of not getting even a single seat in Seemandhra only; congress has opted to divide 9 crores of Telugu people. He said congress has made Andhra Pradesh, a scapegoat for their benefit.

He said an unethical bill has been presented in the state assembly and said further proceedings on the bill might cause contempt of the constitution of India. He said without having complete details on the issues mentioned in the bill, it is not possible to held discussions. Further, he said the centre has not intimated about the allocation of funds for the residual Andhra Pradesh. He demanded for the detailed list of distribution of assets between the states and urged the speaker to held discussions on the matter only after the receipt of complete details. He urged people from either region to stay united even after bifurcation.
