Hyderabad: Rich tributes were paid to freedom fighters Ashfaqullah Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil on their 86th death anniversary at a programme held to mark the occasion by Insaaf, a CPI affiliated organisation at Makhdoom Bhavan on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, fomer CPI MP, Syed Azeez Pasha recalled the rich contribution by the revolutionary freedom fighters to the Indian national freedom struggle. He said they protested the British rule tooth and nail till their last breath.
Telangana Praja Front vice-president Veda Kumar and Mir Ahmed Ali of Insaaf spoke on the occasion and recalled the sacrifices of the Kakori heroes who were hanged to death on December 19, 1927. They also pledged to erect statues of both martyrs as a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity very soon.
