Kurnool: Lothario MLA spreads fear for women

In another issue of controversy, an MLA of Kurnool district has been allegedly said to be the cause of concern for the women employees in government establishments in the district. The frightened women in the district blamed an MLA for their predicament. It learnt that the accused MLA harass the women employees of various schools and other government organizations in the pretext of snap checks.

Further, it is learnt that with an ill intention, the MLA orders for a meeting with the employees with clear instructions of 100% attendance of women employees for the meet. 100% attendance of women employees is said to be a mandatory requirement.

It is also learnt that he threatens the women employees of dire consequences like suspension, if failed to attend the meeting. Further, according to sources, the MLA would get a list of phone numbers of women employees and harass them over phone, after sometime. In the recent past, cases of women quitting their jobs are at their high in Kurnool district. The reason for the same is said to be the frustration drawn by the women with the ongoing illicit activities of the MLA

According to sources, the MLA, in his mid forties has allegedly sent filthy messages to a woman employee. Further, the lady showed the abusive messages to Zilla Parishad head, and also lodged a complaint, but to no avail. It is leant that the women sought transfer to another district as she was unable to bear the ill-treatment.

Many incidents of similar vein have become a quite common feature in Kurnool district. The working women are not in a position to seek help from the police also as the accused MLA is said to MLA from the ruling party. Now, the women are planning to approach the Human Rights Commission, as they are left with no other option.
