Hyderabad: All eyes are on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who would be meeting the AICC president Sonia Gandhi on Friday.
Kiran is going to Delhi to participate in the meeting of the Congress Chief Ministers which has been convened to discuss the issues that had led to the party’s debacle in the four states which went to elections recently. The meeting will discuss the problems faced by the party in the Congress ruled states and the measures that need to be taken to strengthen it from grass root level.
While those close to Kiran claim that he would utilise the opportunity to express his views on the issue of bifurcation once again before the party president, others feel that he may not get an opportunity to speak about it unless Sonia Gandhi decides to give him special audience.
The statement of AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh that Kiran was a loyal Congress man and that he never spoke against Sonia Gandhi on the eve of his visit, some party leaders here say is an indication that Kiran would not go against the party line.
