Political Parties woo APNGOs Leaders, APNGOs leaders, 2014 general elections. Even as the supporters of Ashok Babu claim that he would win unanimously.

Hyderabad: Are politicians trying to derive mileage from the elections to the APNGO Union? It appears so, considering the way seasoned leaders are trying to woo the APNGOs who are in electoral fray. Congress party’s open support to incumbent president P Ashok Babu has made the YSRCP embark on a similar move, ostensibly to win over employees’ support in the general elections.

There are some four lakh employees in the Seemandhra region. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is championing the cause of an undivided Andhra Pradesh, recently released salary advance to the Seemandhra employees, who had gone on 66 days of agitation. Similarly, YSRCP leader Sharmila promised a month’s bonus to the protesters on coming to power. After reports emerged that Kiran Kumar Reddy was providing assistance to the group spearheaded by Ashok Babu, it has been learnt that his opponent Abdul Basheer, president of Prakasam district, is being propped up by Jagan’s party.

Even as the supporters of Ashok Babu claim that he would win unanimously, the employees from other groups made a strong pitch against the current leadership.

No party is letting go of opportunities to grab power in Seemandhra. While the districts of north coastal Andhra up to Krishna are supporting Ashok Babu, the districts south of Krishna and Rayalaseema are supporting Basheer.
