Anantapur: The identity of at least 20 persons of the 26 who were charred to death on the Bangalore-Nanded Express of South Western Railway was ascertained.

They have been identified as Ishwar Nagre, Anirudh N Kulkarni, Lalita, Basavaraju, Sarvamanala, Padmini, Anil Kumar, Jui George, Kandoba Kulkarni, Premalatha, Bheemaiah, Sudha, Leela, Ramanandam, Krishnamurthy, Subhash Reddy, Champalal Rathi, Sreenivas B and Sreelatha.

The following passengers, who were travelling on the ill-fated train, Vijaya Ramamurthy, Natesh, Tanushrre and Prof Narahari Rao sustained grievous injuries in the mishap.

Meanwhile, Vijitha, Tanuja and Dalwinder were discharged from the hospital after undergoing treatment.

The following passengers are safe-Sanjeev Kolur, Srikanth, R Ramamurthy, Nagesh Rao, Anupama, Sharanabasava, Sharanabasava PH, Shreeya, Parul Singh, R Anil, R Amith, Sunitha, Chirag, Sakshi, Nagamani, K Oron, Veeresh Patil, Dheeraj Kumar, Basanagowda, Hanumegowda, Oron, L Oron, R Prabhakaran, Akshaya Perar, Chandru Perar, Vishalakshi, Vaishnavi Rao, Veena Rao, Amaresh N Makal, MB Patil, Manjunath Patil, Vivek and Umesh.

The passengers feared dead or missing-Kavitha Nagre, N Kishore Kumar, Krishna RA, Dr Asra, Balbir Kaur, Aman Preet Kaur, Ibrahim Rahi, Rahul and Vinay.
