Hyderabad: Taking strong exception to the criticism made by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu at the Prajagarjana held at Tirupati on Sunday against AICC president Sonia Gandhi, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana said that Naidu should introspect before making such wild allegations.

At a press conference here on Monday, Botcha said that it was Naidu who was an embodiment of corruption and had got the patent for graft. He said it was Naidu who had institutionalised dishonest dealings and unscrupulous practices in the State. His remarks against the Congress party and its leaders were like the devil quoting scriptures. Naidu should explain how his wealth had grown from merely two acres of land to Rs 2,000 crore.

Botcha said that Naidu’s nine-year regime as Chief Minister was full of scandals. “The TDP president instead of coming clean by allowing a probe into his alleged shady deals went to court and obtained a stay. If he was really honest and if he had done no wrong then he should have faced the probe,” the PCC president said.

Referring to the comment made by Naidu that he was like an arrow shot by Lord Rama, Botcha said Naidu had the Bhasmasura Hastam which was known for self-destruction. Naidu, he said, had made it a habit to promise 100 seats to BCs before the elections. So far he had never kept his word, Botcha added. Replying to a question, Botcha said he would announce the details of his assets on January 3 and would submit it to the Speaker of the State Assembly.
