Karimnagar: In a no-holds-barred attack against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar who is bent upon thwarting the bifurcation process, local MP Ponnam Prabhakar Reddy gave vent to his spleen against Kiran. As the Chief Minister is scheduled to visit the district on January 5 to inaugurate Sripada Yellampalli Irrigation Project on the Godavari, he said the Congress party activists would obstruct the anti-Telangana CM’s visit, at any cost. ‘The Congress leaders in the district warmly welcomed the Chief Minister whenever he visited. However, after his recent acts opposing Telangana formation, they are in no mood to allow him on the soil of Telangana, and have been burning his effigies,” he said.

“Still if the Chief Minister ignores our warnings, and dares visit the district on January 5 to launch the project, we will shoot down his helicopter. If needed, we will even seek the help of Maoists to take up the task,” he threatened. The MP asked security and police officials to advise the Chief Minister not to visit the district in view of their threat. On the AP Reorganisation Bill, he said all Telangana MLAs should unitedly foil the attempts of Seemandhra members in the Assembly.

Prabhakar alleged that during the past four months, the Chief Minister had signed many files and took many key decisions without the Cabinet’s approval. After the formation of Telangana, all such files would be scrutinised.

Meanwhile, Chittoor DCC secretary A T Srinivas on Thursday filed in Srikalahasthi One Town Police Station a complaint against Karimnagar MP. A complaint was filed under IPC Sections 120B, 506 and 307.
