AAP proved there’s alternative to Cong and BJP: Narayana

Visakhapatnam: CPI State secretary K Narayana has said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who indicated that Rahul Gandhi would be the next Prime Ministerial candidate of the Congress, only bequeathed the legacy of corruption to the latter.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he said that the 2G, Coalgate and several scams involving lakhs of crores of rupees surfaced during the Congress-led UPA regime and the Prime Minister should admit his fault and seek pardon. Referring to Mr Manmohan Singh’s barb at Modi who had termed him as a weak Prime Minister, that he did not want to preside over mass massacre of innocent citizens in Gujarat to be called a strong Prime Minister, the CPI leader said that had the Prime Minister reacted like this earlier, it would have been different. “But why did he keep quiet all these years though the Gujarat massacre drew all-round condemnation, including from courts and all political parties? We are happy that at least towards his end he realised. But he should take corrective action,” he remarked.

Noting that Mr Singh was praising Kejriwal of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said the latter had proved in Delhi that the BJP and the Congress were not alternatives anymore and that their end was near.

“We will witness a new political coalition in the coming days,” the CPI leader stated.
