Hyderabad: A new party has come into existence ahead of the crucial 2014 elections. Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga on Saturday announced the launch of Mahajana Socialist Party (MSP). Addressing the party workers, he said the main agenda of the MSP would be to fulfil the aims and objectives enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution.

It had on top of its agenda the social, political and economical empowerment of SCs, STs and other sections of people, who were being discriminated against.

Claiming that the launch of his party on the 295th birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille language for the visually handicapped, was a coincidence, he bemoaned that the existing political parties, run by vested interests, were only meeting the political and economical requirements of certain sections in the society, and leaving the downtrodden in the lurch.

He said that his party would follow in footsteps of famous personalities like Konda Laxman Bapuji, Chakali Ailamma and Prof K Jayashankar and would strive for uplift of the downtrodden. He alleged that the parties had made the Constitution ‘a dustbin,’ by violating its principles.

He hoped that his political party would become an alternative to all other parties, and provide a political platform to all those who had been fighting for the cause of downtrodden and weaker sections.
