At present, the colleges in Tanuku have become nodal agencies for higher education in the district. Hence, Tanku turns to be the most suitable place for the establishment of the proposed new university in the district, according to the wise.
It is worth mentioning here that in the year 2003, a proposal was made to establish a PG centre at Tanuku. However, due to the non availability of exclusive 20 acres of land, the opportunity was taken over by Tadepalligudem in the same district. In view of this, the local people demand to establish the University at Tanuku.
