Rules out Kiran launching a party
Hyderabad: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the Centre would take forward the process of bifurcation as per the Constitutional norms and provisions irrespective of the outcome of the debate in the State Assembly on the draft T Bill.
Talking to media on the sidelines of the second P V memorial lecture organised by the Hyderabad Media House at FAPCCI auditorium on Wednesday, Azad exuded confidence that the State Assembly would conclude its debate on the T Bill before January 23, the deadline set by the President to conclude the discussion in the State Legislature. Asked about the possibility of extending the deadline, Azad said the President had given adequate time for the Assembly to discuss the Bill.
The Union Minister also ruled out the possibility of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy floating a new political party. Azad who was in-charge general secretary of the State in the past, said, “Kiran Reddy is the Congress Chief Minister. Why will he launch another political party" He said he was hopeful that the T State would be formed well before the 2014 general elections.
Azad appealed to all the legislators to utilise the time given by the President and express their views on the draft T Bill. Earlier he visited Gandhi Bhavan and held a meeting with PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana, former PCC chief D Srinivas, Deputy Chief Minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha, Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy and Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
Former ministers P Sabita Indra Reddy and DL Ravindra Reddy, and MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, Suresh Shetkar and Anjan Kumar Yadav also met the Union Minister. According to sources, these leaders apprised Azad of the progress on the T Bill in the Assembly and complained against the strident attitude of the Chief Minister on the T issue.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Srinivas said the TBill would be adopted by Parliament in its February session.

According to sources, Mastan Vali told Azad about the anti-Congress sentiment that was prevailing in the Seemandhra region. It was learnt that Azad told him that the Congress high command was aware of the ground level situation in Seemandhra. “We have formulated an action plan to revive the party in Seemandhra before the ensuing general elections," he told the members.
