Hyderabad: In a decision that will cause great cheer to the workers engaged on contractual basis in the AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), the management board on Friday issued orders, regularising the services of 9,518 contract drivers and conductors.
The services of 5,093 drivers and 3,550 conductors were regularised with effect from September 1 last year, and the services of the remaining 471 drivers and 404 conductors from November 1 last year. The regularisation of services was one of the major demands of RTC unions which have been pressurizing the government to make it a full-fledged government-owned service.
