Christians condemn attack on pastor
Christians condemn attack on pastor, Christian Social Forum, All India Christian Council Dharna. M Solomon Raju, general secretary, Christians Rights Protection Forum, appealed to the government to check religious attacks and punish the perpetrators.
Stage protest demanding action against culprits
Hyderabad: Members of various Christian organisations including Christian Social Forum (CSF), Indian Dalit Christian Rights (IDCR) and All India Christian Council (AICC) staged a dharna and took a rally on Tank Bund on Sunday to protest against the attack on Pastor Sanjeev at Vikarabad.
Several leaders of Christian organisations and youth converged in front of the Gurram Jashuva statue and condemned the attack by holding placards and sloganeering. Some youth also tried to stage rasta roko. Police immediately swung into action and foiled the rasta roko attempt. Addressing the agitators, Evangelist Anil Kumar asked them to protest peacefully and cooperate with the police. He demanded that the government extend security to the religious heads in all towns. Tollywood Actor Raja Abel asked the community members not to keep quiet if such attacks take place. Later, the agitators took out a rally till Ambedkar Statue under Telugu Talli Flyover and garlanded it.
P Paul, Aradhana TV Chairman, Benhur, Rakshana TV, G Alfred, G Samuel, Stanley Babu, Anand Golloru, State vice president and Edward Samuel, member, Prime Minister’s 15 point programme were among those who participated in the protest programme.
