Hyderabad: A mega team of party leaders from state will attend Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Council meet in New Delhi from January 17 to 19. It is being said to be the biggest congregation of the party members coinciding with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting on January 17. According to the BJP leaders, about 150 delegates from the State representing the three regions would be participating in the meeting. This would include the office bearers and district presidents. A total of 10,000 office bearers and other leaders from across the country will be attending the three-day crucial meeting. The meeting will take stock of poll preparation besides discussing political and economic agenda for the party, which would be part of its election propaganda.

Meanwhile, the party leaders from the Telangana region will meet key leaders like Sushma Swaraj and apprise them of the political developments in the State.

With the deadline set by the President to the State Assembly for expressing views on AP Reorganisation Bill fast approaching, all eyes will be focused on Centre’s moves after January 23.

Though there is no change in the party's commitment to statehood status to Telangana, BJP Telangana leaders would urge the party leadership to mount pressure on the Centre so that Telangana Bill got the nod of both houses of the Parliament, a party leader informed.

Asked if there was a possibility to discuss poll alliances with the party central leadership, the state leaders said that they would abide by whatever decision the party leadership took at an appropriate time. For now, the focus would be on the efforts to strengthen the party and ensure that Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister, they added.
