Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party MLA, Akbaruddin Owaisi addressed the house in state assembly on Tuesday and said measures should be adopted to protect the minorities.
He informed the house that in Hyderabad and greater Hyderabad regions there are 42% and 36% Muslim populations, respectively. Akbar said there is a possibility that the coalition of TDP and BJP may become powerful after the formation of Telangana state.
Owaisi said the feelings of Muslims have not been taken into consideration when Andhra Pradesh state was formed. He said even GoM didn’t consider their proposal of formation of RayalaTelangana.
He worried that the communal forces will become strengthened in all 10 districts of Telangana, after bifurcation. He held the dharnas and protests organised by Sangh Parivar in the last four years as the evidence for his statement. The Muslims have been the downtrodden community in the state said Owaisi, they lag behind the SCs/STs in this regard. He sought a sub plan for the uplift of the Muslims.
