Police foil 'Chalo Assembly'
Police foil 'Chalo Assembly', Chalo Assembly Programme, United AP Supporters. Attempts of Samaikyandhra Prajasanghala JAC and Seemandhra students JAC to hold ‘Chalo Assembly’ rally was foiled by the police at Indira Park on Monday.

Hyderabad: Attempts of Samaikyandhra Prajasanghala JAC and Seemandhra students JAC to hold ‘Chalo Assembly’ rally was foiled by the police at Indira Park on Monday. Protestors were arrested and whisked away in trucks to a nearby police station at around 3 pm. Prajasanghala JAC chairman Karem Sivaji suffered minor injuries in the melee.
Earlier both the pro-united AP groups from Congress and TDP staged deeksha at dharna chowk. Politicians cutting across party lines visited the deeksha venue and expressed solidarity with their cause. S Sailajanath, Pithani Satyanarayana, Erasu Pratap Reddy, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Kasu Krishna Reddy (all Congress) and MP Sujana Chowdhary and MLA Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao from the TDP visited the venue. Addressing the gathering, the Congress ministers stated that they would impress upon the President to give more time for expressing views on the draft Bill. It was time political parties set aside their agendas and work in co-ordination for keeping the State united, they felt.
